Pastor Leverett's Bio
EDUCATION: Graduate of Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri (1978) with a B.A. in Theology. Performed post graduate work at Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville, Florida, taking courses in counseling and psychology.
ORDINATION: Formally ordained to the gospel ministry at Baptist Temple, Springfield, Missouri (Dr. W. E. Dowell Sr., Pastor)
MINISTRY HISTORY: 1980 to 1982 - Worked with Pastor Jay Lowe at Liberty Baptist Church, St. Petersburg, Florida, as College and Career Director and Assistant to the Pastor. 1982 to 2004 - Worked as church planter in Mobile, AL. He and Carolyn labored together for 22 years in Mobile resulting in two Baptist church plants, both of which are doctrinally sound, multi-ethnic, financially healthy, and active in world missions. Served in several offices with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. Has had articles published in several Christian periodicals. Has spoken in missions conferences, fellowship meetings, banquets, youth camps, and as guest lecturer at Bible Colleges.
GOALS: First, to personally walk with Jesus, then to achieve excellence in all areas of ministry as the Lord empowers. To maximize the outreach of Bridge Church, both at home and around the world. To teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the effective principles of Christian living, so as to bring others to a joyful and meaningful relationship with God.
